Kriti Kala is a part of Kriti Social Initiatives (, a not for profit organization committed to women’s empowerment and education of children. Kriti works in the slums in Hyderabad and one of its major initiatives has been to provide skills training in the area of tailoring, hand embroidery and paper bags made by unskilled women from the slums. Once the women finish the skills training program, many of them start asking about income generation opportunities and that is how KritiKala was launched. We are passionate about sustainability and love working with fabric discards to make patchwork products. We are also committed to supporting artisans involved in the handloom and handcrafted textiles sector and use local textiles such as Kalamkari, Mangalagiri and Ikat.
