About the craft - Chitrakathi is an ancient folk tradition and a unique style of painting that is practised in Pinguli, a small village in the Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra, India. Our products are handcrafted by talented artisans living in small remote villages of India.
The vision is to revive the folk arts and crafts of India and help generate sustainable livelihoods for artisans with a special focus on rural women and youth. Through design interventions, capacity building, market development, and the creation of self-governing mechanisms, we aim to help the artisans grow the community craft clusters in their natural habitat.
